UK Quiz Results, Week of 21-25 September: Monday's Five Quizzes, Day by Day
Short version: Monday's five weekday quizzes all went out on time, and only the BBC Two hour produced anything a viewer could call a result. Southampton and Queen's University Belfast met on University Challenge and finished five points apart. Everything else on this page stays open until a broadcaster or an archive publishes it.
This one page covers the whole week, and a cell is filled the moment two sources agree.

Who won University Challenge on Monday?
Southampton and Queen's University Belfast played out the closest first-round tie of the series so far, and the two sides put 395 points on the board between them. That is 70 more than last Monday's UCL win over the Royal College of Art.
We are not printing a winner yet. One crowd-maintained results table already gives Southampton 200 and Queen's 195, but the independent archive we normally check against had not reached 21 September when this went up, so the cell stays open rather than resting on a single entry. Did anyone beat the Chaser on Monday?
Nobody publishes the answer, so nobody can tell you. ITV puts no final-chase score on the ITVX episode page, none in its TV guide and none on the official YouTube channel, whose newest full clip is a summer special filmed in Barcelona.
That is why the Chase and Tipping Point columns say "outcome not confirmed" instead of carrying a number. Both slots did run to time on Monday — Tipping Point from 4pm, The Chase from 5pm — which is the part we can source. What happened on Mastermind and Only Connect?
Both aired in the BBC Two block and neither winner is public. Mastermind's ninth show of the run carried four specialist subjects: the novels of Jeanette Winterson, the films of Nicole Kidman, the radio comedy Round the Horne and the Paris Commune of 1871.
Only Connect put Double Features against Accrual World in episode 11, with three of the six leaving at the end. The BBC names contenders and subjects in advance but never the result.
What changed on Pointless and Countdown this week?
Both changed the person sitting alongside the host, and both changes are checkable. Pointless is two episodes into Series 36; Lucy Porter took Monday's questions on Africa and comets, and Michael Ball arrives at the Pointless laptop on Tuesday. Countdown swapped Dictionary Corner guests on Monday. Marcus Brigstocke did last week's five afternoons; Neil Delamere has this week's, from episode 61, with Colin Murray, Rachel Riley and Susie Dent in their usual places. Times and catch-up are on our Countdown page.
Was anything moved or dropped?
Nothing was, which is worth saying after a fortnight of football. ITV1 kept its 4pm and 5pm hours, BBC One kept 5.15pm, and BBC Two ran the full 7.30pm to 9pm quiz hour and a half. The week's planned grid is in this week on UK quiz TV.

How does a cell get filled?
Two independent sources have to agree. For University Challenge that usually means the BBC episode page plus a results archive; for Pointless and Countdown it means the BBC One or Channel 4 schedule plus the episode entry, which is why those cells carry an episode number and a guest rather than a score.
For The Chase and Tipping Point there is rarely even one source, so nothing gets written in from a viewer's memory of the final chase. Last week's completed grid is at UK quiz results, week of 14-18 September, and the nightly slot detail for that week is on Friday's line-up.

Why does this page say "not confirmed" so often?
Because the broadcaster has not published the outcome. A cell is filled only when two sources agree, and a blank is more use than a guess.
When does the grid get updated?
Every weekday morning after broadcast, at the same address. The byline time at the foot of the page tells you when it last changed.
