Why Isn't Tipping Point On? Deal or No Deal Has the 4pm Hour, The Chase Is in Repeats

Short version: ITV has handed its 4pm weekday hour back to Deal or No Deal, so Tipping Point drops off ITV1's afternoon for now. The show hasn't been axed, and it's still on ITV every day through ITV Quiz repeats and ITVX.
The Chase is still at 5pm, but it isn't showing new episodes either. Since Monday 21 September ITV1 has been running episodes filed under series 17, two weeks after series 19 began on 7 September.
| ITV1 weekday slot | 21–25 September | From 28 September |
|---|---|---|
| 4pm | Tipping Point | Deal or No Deal |
| 5pm | The Chase (series 17 from 21 Sept) | The Chase (series 17) |
| Fri 9pm | Beat the Chasers (series 4) | Beat the Chasers (series 6) |
Why isn't Tipping Point on ITV1 at 4pm?
Because Deal or No Deal has the slot. ITV's guide lists Stephen Mulhern's game show from 4pm to 5pm on all five weekdays of the week starting 28 September, and Tipping Point isn't in the ITV1 afternoon at all.
ITV hasn't put out a statement explaining the swap, and we won't guess at one. What the listings do show is a straight exchange at 4pm. Either side of it, ITV1 runs Dickinson's Real Deal at 2pm, Lingo at 3pm and The Chase at 5pm.
It's the same trade in reverse from earlier this year. When Deal or No Deal's run finished on 13 February, TV Guide UK reported that Tipping Point went back into 4pm with repeats. Our Tipping Point times guide covers the usual weekday pattern and how Lucky Stars fits around it.
Has Tipping Point been cancelled?
No. Nothing ITV has published says so, and the show is all over its other channels. ITV Quiz is carrying three hours of it every morning and three more late at night, all filed under series 10.
On a typical day that means 10am, 11am and midday, then 10pm, 11pm and midnight on ITV Quiz. Ben Shephard's celebrity version also carries on: Tipping Point: Lucky Stars was on ITV1 at 4.15pm on Saturday 26 September. None is billed for Saturday 3 October, when racing and football fill the afternoon.
When is Tipping Point back on ITV1?
Only in the evening so far. Tipping Point: Best Ever Finals went out on ITV1 at 7.30pm on Wednesday 30 September, in the half-hour before Emmerdale, and the guide lists the same slot on Wednesday 7 and Wednesday 14 October.
For the 4pm slot itself there's no date. ITV's public guide looks about a week ahead, and when we checked on Thursday 1 October it reached Thursday 8 October with Deal or No Deal still at 4pm on every weekday.

Is Deal or No Deal new or a repeat?
Probably a repeat, though ITV doesn't label it either way. Its guide files the 4pm episodes under series 2, and that's the run TVmaze records as finishing on 13 February 2026.
A third series has been commissioned. TV Guide UK said in February only that it would come "later this year", and nothing in ITV's listings is filed as series 3 yet. The same series 2 episodes are also running on ITV2 and ITV Quiz, which points the same way.
Is The Chase a repeat this week?
Yes, and it has been since Monday 21 September. TV Zone UK reported that ITV went back to repeats after just two weeks of series 19, with the new episodes pushed back and no return date given.
ITV's guide agrees. Every 5pm episode from 21 September to 8 October is filed under series 17, and so are the Sunday episodes at 5.45pm on 27 September and 5.50pm on 4 October. Saturday's 5.15pm Chase Celebrity Special is an older run too, filed as series 13.
Our How to Watch The Chase guide explains how to tell a new episode from an old one on ITVX. If you'd rather be in the chair than watching, here's how applications work.
What about Beat the Chasers on Friday nights?
That's older material as well. ITV1's 9pm Friday slot had Beat the Chasers filed as series 4 on 25 September, and series 6 on 2 October.
The next new run is further off. TV Zone UK reports that series 8 has slipped from 2026 to what looks like early 2027, and an ITV spokesperson told the site scheduling is "confirmed closer to transmission".
What else has changed on ITV1's evenings?
Football is the big one for evening viewers. UEFA Nations League coverage took ITV1 from 7pm on Tuesday 29 September and does so again on Tuesday 6 October, so there's no Emmerdale or Coronation Street on either night. Our sister site explains what happens to the soaps on football nights.
On Monday 28 September the 7.30pm slot went to Millionaire Hot Seat. Nothing changes for the BBC and Channel 4 quizzes: Pointless stays at 5.15pm on BBC One, and Countdown keeps its 2.10pm Channel 4 slot. The full weekday picture is in which quiz shows are on each weekday, and the day-by-day record for the week of 28 September is in our results round-up.
Where can I watch Tipping Point while it's off ITV1?
ITVX has older series on demand, and ITV Quiz's daily repeats are on its live stream as well as on TV. Neither needs you to wait for 4pm.
ITVX is UK-only, and you'll need a TV licence to watch any channel live on it. Catch-up of ITV's own programmes on demand doesn't need one.
